Purpose
The purpose of the Terms of Use applicable to the site eshop.centralbank.cy is to define the sales procedure between the Central Bank of Cyprus (the “CBC”) and any natural person (the “Customer”) who intends to buy numismatic items (the “Products”) via the CBC e-shop at eshop.centralbank.cy

The CBC reserves the right to amend the Terms of Use applicable to the site eshop.centralbank.cy whenever it deems necessary and without prior notice.  Customers should therefore check for any amendments prior to every usage of the CBC e-shop. To continue using it implies acceptance of any changes.

The Terms of Use valid for a specific transaction are the ones published on the date of the order.

Offered Products
The Products offered for sale and their main characteristics are presented on this website.

The photographs of the Products published on this site are for information purposes only. Although the CBC endeavours to make the photographs as accurate as possible, they may not be identical to the offered Products and do not form part of the sales contract.

Order
Customers may make online orders as follows:
  • By clicking onto “add to basket” written under the Product(s) they would like to order.
  • By providing online the necessary personal information (e.g. name, address, etc) when an order is submitted. Alternatively, an account with the necessary information can be created so that a Customer will not need to provide the information every time an order is placed.
  • By confirming that they accept the General Terms of Use.
  • By effecting payment through Visa or MasterCard.
The processing of each order will depend on the availability of the products.

Each transaction is limited to a maximum weight of two (2) kilos, which includes the total weight of the ordered products, the capsules and/or cases (where applicable) as well as the packaging. If the maximum weight is exceeded, it will not be possible to proceed with the order and a relevant notice will appear on screen.

Additionally, each transaction is limited to a maxiumum basket value of €825 which refers to the value of the items in the basket.  If the maximum value is exceeded, it will not be possible to proceed with the order and a relevant notice will appear on screen.

The CBC reserves the right to impose additional restrictions by amending the Terms of Use accordingly.

A sale is considered as definitive only after a Customer has received the order number via e-mail.

Payment
Payment is effected through the use of  Visa and MasterCard. The Customer account is debited when submitting the order. The Customer information is encrypted and securely communicated via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology which guarantees safe online transactions through the internet.

Product Ownership Transfer - Risk Transfer
Further to receiving the payment confirmation through the Customer’s credit card, the CBC prepares and delivers the products to the transport agent for dispatch to the Customer.

Product ownership is transferred to the Customer with the delivery of the Products to the transport agent for dispatch to the Customer.

The risk for Product damage is conveyed to the Customer when the CBC delivers the products to the transport agent for delivery to the Customer.

Prices and Cost of Dispatch
The price displayed under each Product includes VAT, if applicable. Prices excluding VAT, for delivery outside the European Union, are also indicated in the Product details.

Displayed prices do not include the cost of dispatch and insurance costs.  The cost of dispatch includes processing, packaging and transport expenses.  These costs take into account the weight  and destination of the Products. Insurance costs take into account the value of the order.  Dispatch and insurance costs are included in total order cost and are notified to Customers.

The prices charged are the ones valid at the time of the order.

The CBC reserves the right to change the prices at any time. Price amendments shall not affect orders that have been completed prior to the amendments.
